Flowers function as political emblems in this series, especially the orchid, which operates across Southeast Asia as national symbol and diplomatic gift. Chrome, red and yellow surfaces recall the ideological color coding of the Cold War, when newly independent nations were pressured into the binary blocs of global superpowers. Yet the flowers refuse to remain within those schemes. Their metallic and hybrid surfaces propose political identities formed through selection, mutation and self-inquiry rather than fixed allegiance.
