run + i (ruin) (2020)

Stop-motion animation with sound

run + i (ruin) traces the changing fate of the land now occupied by the Independence Palace. Through stop-motion and a computational algorithm, fragments from 1975, military technology, superhero mythology and a speculative Khmer past collide across incompatible historical periods, producing a shifting, non-linear memory of the site.
