The lenticulars contemplate the relationship between humans and the cosmos of the Mekong Delta. Since the annexation of the territory over the past 300 years, the history of reclamation and development of this region has been associated with machinery and the remembrance and worship of mother goddesses. The transposition of images on the surface of the lenticulars symbolizes the conversion of ordinary people into the celestial realm in the ritual of múa bóng rỗi - a traditional dance to connect with the gods at temples in the Mekong River Delta. They also imply the transformation of the natural and human worlds with modernity’s futuristic machinery.
